BTTE 7             EdTech1             Day 2

From cave scribbles to interactive age, man has come a long way. I lived in the days where you’ll need a whole shelf of encyclopedia to do a little research on assignments. The worst part of it is, you are confined to the limited information on it, today with one click of a button, (just be very cautious) you’ll be able to explore the vast knowledge in the world wide web. My Elementary days would test ones writing skills, there was a time that books must stay at school because the fear of losing and damage to it not to mention the scarcity and its condition. One note book is not enough for a school year for the whole chalk board notes that you need to copy. Pencil and pen (the scented kind) is like a commodity and a must for every student.

I first encountered overhead projector in High School. Because I’m a big kid, the task of fetching it at the property custodian fell on me almost every day. My teacher in 3rd year Ms. Daoang has this bunch of acetate films where photocopy of the book pages is printed, she would sometimes write on it instead of using chalk on the board. Now all my Professor’s in BTTE have Laptops and projectors to use for their lesson presentation to the class, we don’t even have those when I was in technician classes. Now, information is everywhere, readily and easily accessible to anyone at any time and place.

Maybe someday, everyone like Mr. Tony Stark, will have a “Jarvis” to take care of even the most mundane task that we could think of. But until then, this world will need quality, patient, innovative, kind, God fearing and all good teacher traits this planet can offer. To properly guide, and facilitate Learning to all students. The task of sustaining the progress and continuously developing Technicians, Engineers, Scientist, Leaders and every individual that will build this nation is at the hands of the teachers. From cave walls and beyond.
